How I curated my Wedding Reception Dinner Outfit & Look?

As mentioned in previous post about my wedding lookhere I am with another event outfit which was the evening reception dinner – hosted same day as of the wedding (14th February) 🙂

Since I had gone all traditional with the wedding ceremonies’ outfits, for the reception dinner – I chose to go for a gown. Again, I wanted a simple look with a colored silhouette outfit & straight hair with minimal hair accessories.

The story behind this gown is interesting. I initially had a full-flared princess gown in my head. But then while I was trying on the gowns – an off-shoulder, straight gown was the best available choice so I bought it. I also thought how will I be able to dance in such heavy outfit anyway? *Meh* I was happy with the purchase. Since we didn’t have enough time, I had requested the tailor for a speedy alteration. When I showed the trial pictures to my mother, she said something with flare would look much better on me. I didn’t have words to say to her as that’s something even I wanted 😦 I tried to convince her but I didn’t want to go against her thought too. But, somewhere in my head also, I was fighting with the same thought after she said it.

Ok so, I immediately called the outlet & requested them to halt the alteration. They said – they won’t be able to refund but I could buy something else instead. There was a turmoil in my head – Umm, I had already seen their collection – this was the best one. What do I do now? etc etc.

But anyway, I went to the outlet again. Luckily, there was an addition 😀 😀 Yayyyyie!

There was a new catalogue from which my husband pointed to this “White Beauty” which was hiding in one corner – only to be mine! 😀 😀 #OhYesIamCheesy

About the makeup & hairstyle: I had thought through that I’d style loose hair in different forms during the wedding functions & since I had curls in the morning look, I wanted just straight hair with a pearl band. That’s all 🙂 Makeup – natural as usual with a bold berry lipstick. Swati & I had a Hi-5 on this one as berry color was in both of our heads 😀 😀

Generally, it’s not preferred in India for the bride to wear white but my family wanted me to be happy so they didn’t care as they loved what I chose 😀 😀

Also, check out my curated set of chooda (a set of red/maroon bangles that’s worn by a newly-wedded woman – in India) 🙂

So, here’s the final look along with few “being goofy” pictures from the event 🙂 🙂

Haldi ceremony & the “mid-wedding” couple shoot outfits will be next on the blog. #StayTuned
